Passionate about?
"I’m passionate about people’s rights to be happy and fulfilled." Areas of expertise
Mediation Individual psychotherapy Group-work Coaching using Emotional intelligence The reason why I work for McGeough:
I work for McGeough because of their principled approach to changing behaviour and developing people. I am always a little changed or developed myself from each workshop and programme that I work on. McGeough's approach is different because it does not attempt to ‘put into’ people, but seeks to ‘draw out’ the internal wisdom of each person.
My Favourite McGeough moment so far?
My favourite moments always involve programme participants waking up to the knowledge that whatever they have been struggling with can in fact be let go. I love the fact that many people say they walk lighter as a result of our programmes.
What interests me:
I love reading, friends and conversation. The most interesting possibilities open up for us on the margins – i.e. in ordinary conversation rather than in formal meetings. I find that conversations with people often open up possibilities not previously thought of. Having been brought up in a small hotel I have witnessed the powerful effects of conversing with people.
Interesting fact about me:
I lived and worked and studied in Israel, Japan and Oz. I currently live with 1,000 students!
Affiliations and Associations:
- Ex-chair and current executive member of FTAI – family therapy association of Ireland
- EX- Irish representative to the European Association for Family therapy
- Accredited with the ICP and EAP (Irish council for Psychotherapy and European Association for Psychotherapy
- Board member of SDIB (sexual dysfunction information Bureau)
